Can I just say how much I love shopping in February? It is so much better than the after Christmas or even after Thanksgiving sales, at least in terms of clothes. I was able to stock up today on tons of winter stuff for the girls to wear next year - or the one after. That is the nice thing about having all girls. Everything will eventually fit everyone. I am so excited about my deals that I have to share, even if it is tacky. It all started yesterday when I went to Target and found a great shirt for myself and tights for the girls.
Then today I went to JCPenny's to find a tie to match Brian's "presentation shirt." I love it when they have their ties on clearance - I almost bought him an extra pink tie so he could match the girls for Easter, but I refrained. I might go back. After I found the tie, I had to wander the store and check out all of the other clearance stuff. Out of all the stores I visited they had the best adult stuff on clearance (but no childrens).
It was lunch/nap time and I had to give Brian his tie so we headed home but I couldn't get the clearance racks out of my mind! My big goals were to find some maternity stuff for me (esp. a pair of pants) and some long sleeved stuff for Emily for next year. I learned last week she has been wearing her coat at school ALL DAY LONG! Wearing coats indoors is a pet peeve of mine - so I told her she needed to take it off and have been sending her to school with a sweater. So sweaters for Emily were a top priority.
This evening Brian was gone so we headed back to the mall, got something to eat, and went to Kohls. Their toddler/little girl section was disapointing - all Christmas wear. But they had a lot of things Emily's size. In fact, everyone ended up getting something here. Aleah was VERY excited about her footy P-jamas.
Gymboree was disappointing with everything only 40% off (i.e. a million dollars for a tee-shirt). We took a break from shopping at the playplace. I left Emily in charge for a minute while I stopped in the Children's Place, which was right beside it, and bought another pair of footy PJs.
Aleah was getting grouchy by this time but I promised her some candy out of the machine after we went to one more store. It didn't look like Sears had much but as I looked through the racks I found some really good deals.
At last we started out of the mall. We stopped to get some candy - ran quickly through Old Navy (only 50% off) - and out to the car. I think Brian will shake his head when he gets home - his mantra is you aren't saving money if you are spending money (he does have a point) - but I think I did quite well.
I am so greatful that I was able to find items for next year (and next trimester) on sale and super greatful we had the money to buy them.

So......go to the mall and check it out. You may find some great deals where you are too.
