Block 38, Giveaway Winner, and New Tiny Piecing Collection!

Now on to this week's block. I'm not going to lie. I think I could have done better with my fabric choices. There is a cute little framed area that is great for putting a fussy cut motif, but somehow....

A few months ago, I started playing around with the idea of making tiny Scrappy Triangles. How small could I make them?

I drafted 16 tiny 1" Scrappy Triangles, then drafted some more in 2" and 3". Then came the 1" and 2" Scrappy Strips. I'm calling this set of patterns The Tiny Piecing Collection and they are going to be available Thursday (6/28)! Let me give you a sneak peek at this new collection!

Here are some of the 2" Scrappy Triangles. There are templates for 18 triangles in this set and I think they are the cutest thing ever. The great thing about these triangles is that you can use your smallest scraps to make them.

The Scrappy Strips are simply a row of Scrappy Triangles sewn together as one unit. Sewing them this way speeds the piecing and reduces bulk from seam allowances. In addition to strips of Scrappy Triangles, there are also striped and abstract strips in each Scrappy Strip set.

Plus, each set of templates comes with a pattern for a bonus quilt block or other small project. Here is the quilt block made with the 2" Scrappy Strips.

I always think it is fun to see behind the scenes shots, so here is a picture of my photo shoot set up. Yup, that is my ancient cutting board being used as a background for the 3" Scrappy Triangles on my deck. That's how the pros do it. ;)

Block 37 - Year of Scrappy Triangles

Hello! Here is Block 37 in the Year of Scrappy Triangles. This block eats up all your extra 2" strips and mid-sized square scraps. I could have made 10. Why are there so. many. scraps?

I have been so impressed with all of the blocks that I have seen on Instagram! It's fun to see the same pattern interpreted in so many ways. I was thinking we need to have a giveaway for everyone who has made the first 36 blocks. To enter, take a picture of your 36 blocks and post it on social media. You can either lay out all of your blocks to take the picture or use an app that lets you make a mosaic of individual pictures you have taken. Next Tuesday I will randomly select a entry and they will win this fun bundle of low volume fabric and zipper pouch.

Block 36 - Year of Scrappy Triangles

Hello, friends! I just got back from spending the last week at my church's Girls Camp. It was so much fun and it's taken me a few days to get use to "real life" again - though I'm not missing the ticks. :)

I can't believe that we are on block 36! I think this calls for a giveaway next week for everyone who is up to date on their first 36 blocks. So catch up this week, if you need to, and I'll give you more giveaway details next Tuesday.

This week's Scrappy Triangle is a log cabin like block. It's simple to piece and I love the classic shape. Have fun making it!

Block 35 - Year of Scrappy Triangles

Hi! I'm posting a bit early this week, because tomorrow I am leaving for a week at our church's Girls Camp. While I am swimming and swatting mosquitoes, have fun making this block! It is a good one. Look at all those stripes!
