Today when we went to church everyone over 45 said, "Oh, chicken pox, eh?" or "Looks like German measles to me." To avoid possibility infecting anyone, Brian took her on a walk during Sunday School. Brian checked out all the pox diseases online and it doesn't really seem like any of them. The best I can guess is she got a light case of one of the pox with no fever. The bumps start out skin toned and then turn red and they are hard under the surface. They started on her face and hands and face and today she added a few on her back and belly.
So do I take her to the Dr.? Anything she has is beyond the contagious phase and the bumps don't seem to be bothering her. What do you think it might be?
Update:
I took Kate to the Dr. She grimaced at the blisters at the back of Kate's throat, oh-ed over the 3 teeth Kate cut this weekend and wow-ed at Kate's very red infected ear. I can't believe Kate wasn't more grouchy. I'm glad I took her in so we could catch the ear infection and grateful the hand-foot-and-mouth isn't contagious anymore. Brian insists on calling it hoof-and-mouth and says we should have kept her away from all those sheep. He thinks he is pretty funny.

It's called Hand, Foot & Mouth disease. She'll be fine. She's contagious, though it's rare for anyone over 3 (I think) to get it. The rash will clear up within the week and she'll be no worse for the wear.
One of the girls I babysit had it in July, so I learned all about it, since my kids had been exposed- they never got it though.
I'd google it and see if you agree with my diagnosis...
I just did a quick search- with Hand foot & mouth disease they usually have sores in the mouth, but it can be just a rash. That's my best guess. Good luck.
I thought of hand, foot, mouth disease too, but here's another idea:
One time when Brayden had mysterious pox, the doctor ended up doing a biopsy and it was caused by mites...some kind of a microscopic bug from a mattress we'd rececently taken from storage.
We got a new mattress immediately and all was well.
I'd probably get it checked out since it reoccurred. BTW cute bib. I went to buy more of that fabric to make Andy some bibs and it was all gone. Hope she's better soon.
I am sooo funny. Just ask anyone. My family always told me I was a little funny. Other people too, sometimes I hear them say, "there is something funny about that guy." And I am glad they appreciate the little bit of good humor I have.
What are you doing reading my blog in the middle of the day!?! Get to work!
