I have been looking forward to going to the Chicago Quilt Festival for a year now. The big plan was to get some friends together, go up Friday, hit the Temple, IKEA and the evening preview and then spend all day Saturday at the show. I had even saved the cash back rewards from our Visa to cover the hotel and any fabric I just "had to have." Without kids I could even "test drive" some sewing machines!
who donates baby quilts to the NICU. Fall 2006.
Unfortunately Life happened. We had a desperate need to work around the house, a friend's PhD defense, friends unable to come to Chicago and a Primary convert baptism to go to. So I cried, bucked up and surfed blogs for awhile. It turns out some bloggers were having a Blogger-Quilt-Show. A bunch of different quilters were going to post pictures of some of their quilts. Of course I can't find the link now but I thought I would post some of my quilts all the same.
I like making baby blankets because I can try out new techniques and patterns on something small and fast. Unfortunately, since Colleen has been born I haven't been doing much sewing. I still haven't quilted her baby blanket. Luckily I made it "toddler" sized. I don't think this baby will get a baby blanket either. She might be lucky enough to get a twin sized one. Just in time for her moving into her big girl bed. :)

Beautiful work; displaying all of them together is impressive!
Awesome skills girl!
Too bad the best quilt of all, mine, is missing. Just kidding.
I did the applique sewing in the airport. I got a lot of funny looks sewing pastel blocks together. Not a lot of male business travelers carry sewing stuff.
