I am home with the kids this afternoon instead of at church. Emily has a headache and sore throat, Colleen had a fever yesterday and a sore throat today, and Kate - well, Kate got to stay home to take a nap. So, I thought I would distract Colleen from her whines to play computer games, by writing about her.
Here are some things she likes to do: "Some stuff, a lot of stuff, really. Play with Kate. Go on 'cations. Clean up, play with my bear-bear, stories. That a little bit of stuff." Direct quote obviously.
This afternoon we were sitting in the front room and she asked me what the room was called.
Me: The living room.
Colleen: What 'bout that room? (pointing to the room with books and the computer)
Me: The Library (because Brian prefers library to computer room)
Colleen: It not have people in it! It not library. It our house!
Me: It has lots of books in it so we call it the library.
(I think there was a bit more discussion on this point, but I forget what was said.)
Colleen: What this room called?
Me: The living room.
Colleen: Why?
Me: Because we live in it.
Colleen: We live in that room, that room, that room! (pointing to various rooms) We live in whole house!
She got me there.

Colleen is such a fun kid!
I love these kinds of posts--especially when I read past blog posts and there are direct kid quotes that I never would have remembered otherwise. Your girls are all so sweet.
Her logic is impeccable. I loved her comment about 'cations too. Sounds like she has a firm grip on living life to the fullest already. :)
