Spring Has Sprung!

Last week, when the first of the daffodils opened I picked one to put in a vase and had a firm talk with Colleen about how she was not to pick these flowers without asking - it was a problem last year.  5 minutes later she walked in with a daffodil in her hand.  Hello?!?  Another talk.  No more illegal flowers have been picked.

Who can stay mad at a face like that?  Colleen has also been talking a lot recently about growing up.  "Me getting bigger every day!"

Kate still isn't walking independently, but she now loves pushing her walker-thingy around the block so she is getting plenty of practice.  We will be taking her to an orthopedic specialist next week to see if there is anything physically wrong or if she is just a slow walker.

The weather has been so nice that I have been able to finally convince Colleen that taking walks are a good idea.  Her favorite place to walk to is Hardware Hanks because she can use some of her piggy bank money to buy a sucker.  Emily will always ask if M. can come along too.  No problem.  And if Kate isn't in the stroller she is being carried by Brian.

Emily and M. have decided to raise money so M. can buy a bunny.  They rake in unbelievable amounts of money from their water/kool-aid/cookie stands.  However, my girls always seem to get all worked up over something so I think I will ban selling for a good month.  Colleen is always begging for money to buy from them, Aleah wants to help sell but ends up annoying the big girls and yesterday it all ended in tears.  Not worth it.

When not screaming or complaining about the food for dinner, Aleah can be found sewing up little bags, playing on pbskids.org and taking pictures.

A self portrait.  Pictures of our dinner, framed pictures on the walls and stuffed animals are favorite themes for her photo shoots.

She did take this picture of Kate digging in the garden that I think turned out great.  I have been spending a lot of time outside this week dividing plants and trying to stay ahead of all the weeds that seem to be growing faster than the plants.  I love spring!  I wish it could be like this (minus the weeds) all year.

They are growing up. Thanks for the pictures. Beautiful girls. Even with the crazy, wild, hair days!!

These are my favorite kinds of posts. Your girls are all so adorable, but I love that you include the need for "extra" talks about picking daffodils, banning selling things, and annoying older sisters. Real kids.

I love that picture of Kate digging, too, and I love love LOVE Springtime. Finally!
