Colleen

  • This week Colleen reached a developmental milestone - she learned how to draw faces. Aleah says Emily taught her. Colleen quickly branched out into spider-guys (stick figures with tons of legs).
  • She is one determined girl and has no problem telling you, "Me no talking you! Me talking 'Leah!"
  • When you ask her to do something: "ok. OK. OKAY!" in a very loud annoyed teenage voice.
  • She is the only one of the girls who will let me do their hair. She has firm opinions on how her hair should be done, but regularly comes up to me and says, "My hair crazy! Needs band aids." (rubber bands).
  • The pink colored dishes are a must.
  • Cheese tortillas and apple slices are a favorite lunch.
  • "Flops" are her favorite shoes even in the fall.
  • She regularly talks about "mine pre-school" and how she is going to go there tomorrow (no such pre-school).
  • I've tried numerous times to take a picture of her while she is throwing a tantrum or with her grouchy/defiant/teenage face on but she won't let me. She will forget about whatever she is throwing a fit about, turn her face or run away. She must not want any evidence.
  • Her chore is to feed the cat and she will throw a fit if anyone else tries to feed him.
  • Colleen loves "Princess" book and will pick one out every time we go to the library.
  • Around lunch time she starts asking if Kate is tired because she knows she gets to watch a video during Kate's nap. Current favorite videos are: Kipper and Olivia.
  • She has a bladder of steel. I never ask if she needs to go potty before running errands. At night if she has gone to the bathroom in the last 2 hours she insists that she has "gone 'ready!" and I let her get away with it. We have tried to literally force her to sit on the potty but she doesn't pee, we all get mad and she doesn't wet the bed that night, so I don't bother anymore.
  • She has gotten to be a lot of fun to hang out with since she really started talking at the end of the summer. When we go on walks she will keep saying, "It's a nice day!" About Kate, "My sister, Katie, love me."

How can they all look so much alike and be so very different? :-)

I can hardly wait for you all to get to D.C.

I laughed at "there is no such preschool"! Yes, your kids are adorable and adorably similar looking! Thanks for the glimpse not only into Colleen's personality but your life. :)
